2017 was a great year for music, lots of good albums released , and from the early looks of it, 2018 should be another good year with some big albums dropping and hopefully a few surprises . Some notable album releases to look for :

New Vampire Weekend. Their first album without Rostam, who some say is the straw that stirs the vampire weekends drink. Still think he'll be on the album, but in a collabortive role. Think it's due out in March.

Other albums to look forward to:

Jack White, Charlie xcx, my bloody valentine, Interpol , arctic monkeys, MGMT, Chvrches, Selena Gomez, Spiritualized, the shins, tuneyards , no age, belle & Sebastian, a perfect circle, chromatics, Kanye west, my morning jacket, modest mouse, and TOOL.

Hoping for a new Sufjan Stevens album, but that might be wishful thinking .

Any other albums coming out this year you're looking forward to?

The only two albums I can think of right now that I'm looking forward to are MBV and Freddie Gibbs/Madlib (again).

Is there a reason everyone seems to believe there will be a new MBV album next year?

Promising things and then taking years to deliver on them is what Kevin Shields does. Even in that interview it's his second priority behind the analog remaster of Loveless. I'll continue to not expect an album and be pleasantly surprised when it comes.

It was on metacritic or NPR where I went to scope out 2018 releases.

Wonder if Kurt vile has been working on his own stuff, too. But seeing as how he just released that duet album, lotta sea lice, can't see him putting out an album this year .

Considering how good of a year 2017 was, I have no idea how this year will shape up.

I'm sure there will also be at least one full length from Death Grips considering 2017 was the first year we haven't seen one from them since the band formed.

Nice, I would really like to see them live. I got into The Meadowlands after they went on hiatus.

Whenever the new Zealotry drops, that's when the year will be at its peak

Looking forward to a new Jack White album. Apparently he's dropping a song today.

Normally I wouldn’t believe that Tool was actually going to release an album this year (its been said they’ve been supposed to for like 5-6 years now) but considering the drummer said it’s coming out and maybe more importantly Tom Morello said he’s heard it, I’ll actually believe it this time.
