My latest post here got lost in the migration, so I'll repost.

Pleasure was already amongst my favourite albums of this year (just below the top tier of Hug of Thunder, A Deeper Understanding, and Sleep Well Beast). Then I saw Feist live. Where she played it from beginning to end, and then played another 90 minutes after that. It's in that top tier now. Damn.

That would be a pretty special live show. Just got around to re listening to Pleasure again today. Baby be simple is my favourite song from it. I would put the album above Metals.

I can see this album on a lot of end of year lists . Kind of flew under the radar for the most part.

I listened to the new Kamasi Washington EP , which was great by the way . Even the last song that was 13 minutes was good and engaging for its entirety.

Pleasure reminds me a lot of PJ Harvey. Probably a big reason I like it so much since I've always been a fan of PJ Harvey.

We have two of the same top 3 albums of the year. Do you think I'd dig that Feist album? I know nothing about the band, but looking for something new to listen to.

Some of my other favorites are Bleachers, National, Spoon, Gorillaz, etc

Maybe. My best comparison would be PJ Harvey. So, if you like her music, you should definitely check out Pleasure. Feist is also a member of Broken Social Scene. So there are some similarities, as well.
I definitely think it's worth a listen.

Yeah, The National's new album is pretty good, too and I liked what I've heard from Spoon so far.
I think the Gorillaz album was a bit disappointing though. But on the other hand many people seem to like it.

Halfway through King Krule. Praise is completely warranted .

Cadet limbo & dum surfer the standout tracks so far, but the whole thing is off the charts .

Top 5 for the year. Still need to listen to St. Vincent, so top 10 will be finished in mid November, as there's still some good albums to drop, Julien Baker, etc.

Top 5, er..6.

1a). The War on Drugs - A deeper understanding
1b) King Krule - The Ooz
2. LCD Soundsystem - American Dream
3. Lorde - Melodrama
4. Kendrick Lamar - Damn
5. Sampha - Process

2. Feist - Pleasure
3. The National - Sleep Well Beast
4. Broken Social Scene - Hug of Thunder
5. Brand New - Science Fiction

My list so far-

1. Alvvays - Antisocialites

2. Slowdive - s/t
3. The War on Drugs - A Deeper Understanding
4. Real Estate - In Mind
5. Beach Fossils - Somersault
6. Mac Demarco - This Old Dog
7. Fleet Foxes - Crack-Up
8. The Drums - Abysmal Thoughts (haven't listened to this one as much)

There's a few others I may need to check out (xx, Kurt Vile/Courtney Barnett, Ride), plus I'm heavily anticipating Julien Baker and Melody's Echo Chamber (as long as she recovers from her accident). Sprained Ankle has been on heavy rotation lately.

2018 is looking to be relatively promising too - Vampire Weekend, Purity Ring, My Bloody Valentine (!)

You guys should really check out Take Me Apart by Kelela. She reminds of FKA Twigs a bit but less experimental if that makes any sense.

Two shows I traveled for, King Krule and LCD Soundsystem, were very good decisions.

Time to bump this I think. I just submitted a top 10 album/20 song list for the radio station I moonlight for, although I don't know if my list is staying the same as it would when i finish the year.

You Canadians though, give yourselves a hand for having such a great year. I doubt I'll get a chance to laud Canada with a major list that I did between 2008-2016, but I don't know what this year would've been without Canada.
