Awesome. I got tickets to the Montreal show and then A perfect circle announced they were playing in Laval a month before.

Spending a lot on travel and tickets this year

Was just in Montreal in June for Tool.

Anyone listen to the Zola Jesus album?

I did, and it's fantastic. Just a really solid album from start to finish. I didn't know much about her and I thought the singles were pretty good, but the album blew me away. I thought Sleep Well Beast would be my favorite album out today, but I was wrong.

I thought just half of the national album was decent. Couple songs I thought were kind of snoozefests - walk it back , born to beg, turtleneck.

I thought the last three songs were great.

Might be alone on this one. Maybe it will grow on me.

I didn't dig Turtleneck.

Weyes Blood signed to sub pop. New record in 2018. Loved her last record, front row seat to the earth.

One to look out for next year .

Go Farther in Lightness by Gang of Youths is my choice so far. It's like if the National went all Bruce Springsteen except even more all over the place. Enjoy:

As my good friend @Poppy says, 2017 was an AWESOME year for music.

Paramore album dropped.

Pvris album dropped.

Now Lights album dropped.

All 3 albums are epic.

Between Brand New, The National, War on Drugs, Lana Del Rey, Paramore, Royal Blood, and Kendrick Lamar - this has been a stellar year of music for me. Brand New has been my personal favorite but you really can't go wrong with any of these.

This year has been pretty good imo. The only real big standout for me is Mount Eerie (compared to last year's Tribe, Death Grips, and Danny Brown releases) but lots of stuff I enjoy has come out so I'm happy.

The big one I'm kind of disappointed with this year is King Gizzard. With the singles they dropped before the release of Murder of the Universe (The Lord of Lightning, The Balrog, Digital Black, etc.) I was sure it would be my AOTY but it just didn't pan out into an excellent record.

Phoebe Bridgers is the next saddest album next to Mount Eeries , a crow looked at me.

Really good album, with only one track that I found drug on , second last , 7 minute song. A sun kil moon cover. Other than that the album was really good. Also there's an appearance by Conor Oberst on "Would you Rather . " found he didn't really fit there next to her voice , dragging it down a little.

Hope she rocks out a little more on her next album. Potential is there.

Solid 8.4/10

Ariel Pink's new album Dedicated to Bobby Jameson is A+++++. It might even end up in my top 5 of the year, if not then top 10 for sure.

I like the new Ariel pink. It's good! Feels like heaven is my favourite track. What's your top ten?

Top ten :

1. The war on drugs - a deeper understanding
2. Lcd soundsystem - American dream
3. Lorde - Melodrama
4. Kendrick Lamar- damn
5. . Vince Staples - Big fish theory
6. Mount Eerie - a crow looked at me
7. Slowdive - slowdive
8. Broken social scene - hug of thunder
9. Sampha - process
10. Priests - nothing feels natural

Hm:

phoebe bridgers - strangers in the alps (one to watch . Think she might turn into the next angel Olsen type)
Fleet foxes - crack up (I wanted to like this more than I did.)
