keep an eye out for Ivan Baranka. He's leading his Everett tips team to the WHL finals in their first season. He's not flashy but smart and skilled, smells like Rockwell found another Tjutin.

2003:
Loui Eriksson
Konstantin Glazachev
Vojtech Polak
Kevin Klein
Kamil Kreps
Tim Ramholt
Patrick O'Sullivan
Shea Weber
Patrice Bergeron...

A ton of good players in 2003, Round 2...

Round 4:
Denis Ezhov
Corey Locke
Paul Bissonnette
Matej Trojovsky
Pushkarev also has a big chance of being a good player from 2003 second round, remember he had as many goals as Ovechkin at U-18, even though he played for like Kazakshtan.

Who said anything about "steals"? This was a thread about the BEST pick in a round...
Considering Nash was taken ahead of everyone in the draft, I wouldn't consider him to be much of a contest.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Baranka has not "led" the Silvertips to the WHL Finals. Hes, if anything, hindered their chances, taking stupid penalties constantly, and making very bad choices in his own zone. Hes even been sat by Kevin Constantine.

Baranka needs work, thats all I need to say.

If Fritsche is going to be ranked as one of the best 2nd rounders of his year, he's on thin ice.

He barely averaged a point-per-game this year w/Sarnia this year and was clearly overmatched with his defensive duties in CBJ.

 Are you kidding me?!! Fritsche was the only one on his line in Columbus that played defense. His defense is what kept him in Columbus as long as he was there. In Sarnia 79 points in 61 games ain't too shabby. The kid is labled as a play maker and hard worker, which is exactly what he does no matter where he is playing.
He and O'Sullivan should have gone in the first round, and anyone will tell you that both of them were STEALS in the 2nd round.

Its nice to know that atleast one of 30 teams will score a jackpot in the 4th round. Hopefully, this year it'll be us flames! Wow.. Daze and Hejduk!

And Hejduk passed through the expansion draft as well :banghead:

Are you suggesting that you would select Toivonen or Babchuk over Nash, Bouwmeester, Pitkanen and Lehtonen? If so, All I can say is WOW.

I think Babchuk (will be) > Bouwmeester and Pitkanen

Lets see how he [Pitkanen] does when he doesn't have all that vet support on the blueline in Philly. Jbo struggled in Florida without a veteran presence.

I wouldn't select Toivenen over Lehtonen though
