Best 2nd round series since the lockout?

Over the last decade or so, we've seen great playoff series in round one (CHI/STL last year), the conference finals (LAK/CHI 2014) and the Cup Finals (PHI/CHI, BOS/VAN, BOS/CHI).

But what about the 2nd round? That round has been feast or famine- we've had some sweeps over the last decade, but there have been some quality series.

Personally, the best round 2 showdowns I can recall over the last decade were PIT/WSH 2009 (First Sid/Ovy showdown, double hat trick game, 3 OT's, Varlamov's ridiculous save) and DET/SJ 2011 (6 one-goal games, and the one that wasn't was only due to an empty-netter, and DET nearly pulled off an 0-3 miracle that gets overlooked because of CHI/VAN in round 1).

I think last years Pens/Washington series was amazing and the real final. We were significantly better than this year, but all games could have gone either way just the same.

Great pace, great offense, great goaltending. Hitting, animosity. To me it had everything.

Chicago-Detroit in their last year in the western conference during the 48 game season. Pittsburgh/Washington in 09 was great as well.

Pens/Caps 09 is my favorite. Only way it could've been better is if game 7 were an overtime nail biter instead of a blowout.

Washington was up 3-1 and was like 2 minutes away from closing it out in game 5, Rangers came back to force game 7 and then won in OT.

My "well what about the one involving my team" candidate: LA/SJ in 2013. Low scoring attrition where the home team won all 7 games. 5 of 7 games decided by a goal, including Games 6 and 7. Williams still had Game 7 magic. Richards was still a good player. Outscored Kopitar 5 to 3 for the series.

My favorite of those ones probably is the Blachawks-Red Wings series back in 2013, followed by Bruins-Habs in 2014. Both were memorable series for sure.

Homer vote for CHI/DET in 2013. Given all the recent history between the two franchises, that was about as much drama as you could pack into one series.
