The Stars were insanely stacked back then:

Jere Lehtinen - Mike Modano - Ulf Dahlen
Brenden Morrow - Jason Arnott - Bill Guerin
Stu Barnes - Pierre Turgeon - Scott Young
Rob DiMaio - Manny Malhotra - Steve Ott

Kirk Muller, Niko Kapanen, Claude Lemieux

Darian Hatcher - Sergei Zubov
Philippe Boucher - Darryl Sydor
Richard Matvichuk - Stephane Robidas

Marty Turco
Ron Tugnutt

Lot's of nastiness (Morrow, Ott, Lemieux, DiMaio, Guerin, Arnott, Hatcher, Boucher, Robidas and Matvichuk - ouch) and experience. Roster as a whole didn't have the chemistry as hoped, though, the Young-Turgeon duo didn't seem to connect as hoped and Hatcher and Matvichuk's game didn't really translate to this era anymore.

The Stars roster from that season looks absolutely stacked and the team did perform very well, but the Sabres won the President's Trophy in 2007 and almost made it to the SCF.

I'll go with BUF.

Yeah. Sabres win in 2007... Stars win in 2003.

I voted Sabres cuz I'm a homer

Not trying to be that guy, but why are the Sabres in this?

They had the same amount of points, but won more games than the 2007 Red Wings. They also won the presidents trophy that year. Shouldn't they be in the Best #1 Overall team tournament? Did I miss something?

Idk, I'll see myself out.
