apparently, the great white north peoples are in angst.
again.
this time over their oly flag bearer for the opening ceremonies.
or lack of one.

why not mr. Bertuzzi to carry the red & white glory?

consider the benefits:

italian cultural connection: to the tradition-hungry torinoites
media cultural connection: to the photo-famished paparazzi
canadian cultural connection: to the identity-starved cana-nationalists
hockey cultural connection: to the old-time hockey traditionalists

there are hundreds of people more deserving than bertuzzi to carry the red and white. Frankly I would be embarrassed if he was chosen.

The NHL will still be in action during the ceremonies, thats why Burnaby joe isn't carrying it.

Either way this is a dumb idea.

no hockey player is going to carry the flag. The NHL is still going when the cermony opens.

I don't think there has ever been a more overblown event in the history of organized sport than the Bertuzzi incident.

He punched the guy in the back of the head. Yes, it was cheap and ugly, but no worse than a hundred other incidents.

People need to get over this.

I know this is thumping a deceased pony, but I really can't believe people think Bertuzzi is some sort of criminal.
