Is there any potential for Gaudreau to land in Montreal or is that a no go.

Hard to say and it obviously depends on what the Flames want. From what I am seeing they want a centre and while the Habs do have two they could move, imo, in Danault and Domi I don't know what kind of realistic plus that would entice the Flames.

Danault + 16th + Romanov? I don't think that is a good trade for either team. Obviously not enough for Cgy and Gaudreau is a UFA in two years.

It’s more a case of having a deep and talented prospect pool plus a lot of picks this year and next. It makes sense If he can spend that asset for immediate scoring help on the wing

To what end? It's not like they're a scoring winger away from competing for a Cup. They're not even a scoring winger away from being a lock for the playoffs. They were 24th in the league for a reason.

Not a bad move. That’s a pretty good team and the could use help on the wings

Beating a listless Penguins team in a best-of-five series has convinced Bergevin to go all in. Disaster incoming.
Not true. Fiction. He already said Romanov, caufield, kotkaniemi and Suzuki are all untouchables. You must have missed that part. You also must have missed Habs have 3 2nds this fall - so he has Options

They should go for it now. Not gonna get better after Price, Weber and Petry decline. If they added a Ryan O'Reilly caliber player to that roster they could well be in the hunt. Maybe OEL?
Really? Struble, norlinder, fleury, Romanov, primeau etc might have something to say about that

They had a ton of injuries to their top 6 this past season and didn’t have the depth to compensate. They took out Pittsburgh and if they had been able to be a bit more effective in putting the puck in the net they could have taken out Philly too. They were a 96 point team last year and with the emergence of Suzuki and hopefully Kotkaniemi , plus a better D and an actual back up goalie that can win games and let them rest Price more they should be far more competitive this upcoming season

With Danault a year away from UFA and Domi reportedly on block

Wonder if Strome would be of interest to Habs as longterm top 6 C option or if Saad would be guy he has interest in for top 6 LW/RW spot

Saad for sure, but not at the expense of a 1st rounder considering his contract.

Saad is another 35-40 points scorer that habs clearly dont need. Bergevin is most likely another high end talent and not some crap like Tatar Drouin and Gallagher type of player.

Don't know for Strome , how is he doin?

Bergevin is more than on the rope now , He just gave 4.5m to a backup and 3.5m to a 5th d-man again.

Suzuki and Kotkaniemi are slotted in 1-2 long term. They’re grooming jake Evans behind them. Danault and domi may get dealt at some point. It won’t be for strome

The reason Domi and Danault are potentially on the move is because they feel comfortable with their long term top 6 C options already.

Not a chance Romanov is being moved MB has already said he is an untouchable.
