MB asked for the sun and stars for Pacioretty at the trade deadline, per rumours, and got a bucket of cold water in return. So he has two choices, either swallow his pride/arrogance and take the best offer available or extend Pacioretty and keep him. Which choice is more likely?

He could have boosted Pacioretty's trade value by playing with him Galchenyuk at centre.

Does anyone need reminding about how infuriating it was to watch patio-ready be as invisible as a ghost when the going got tough and how ridiculously hard he would try to get empty net goals? Let him go.

Or wait for the deadline and take a good enough deal then..
