I've been thinking for a while that Scrivens ends up being the long-term answer for the Leafs in net. Hopefully this stretch of games will be a bit of a breakout for him. It would be great to have a goaltending controversy because we've got 2 good goalies for a change. :)

Shameless self-bump. :) Ride Ben for all he's worth! Best Morpheus: He's beginning to believe...

I feel so much more confident with Scrivezina as our backup then Goostafson. Scriver's looks more confident and no where near as shaky as Gooser did. Both can't handle a puck to save their lives though.

He has been extremely solid and much better than I anticipated thus far.

Hopefully he and Reimer can keep up the awesome goaltending because it and coaching was a huge problem for us the last few years.

Now we're getting the goaltending and coaching and it's doing wonders for us. It's nice not to hold your breath at every shot taken.

Our PK is so vastly improved also, it's nice to feel confident in our special teams. The addition of Mcclement and Komarov has noticeably improved our hockey fundamentals. So far so good, but a key component will be consistency. Hopefully we've got it this year.

Superstitious self-bump this time...seriously, Ben's looking at his glove and his blocker and realizing that he knows kung-fu now. He looks at the puck and it stops mid-flight...he says "NO", puck falls down. He is The One. Run him out there again Randy...he's a big boy. Back to back is no big deal...

An interesting piece of information..

Vancouver's combined goaltending statistics this year:
2.07 GAA, .923 sv%, 29.5 years average age, $9.33m total cap hit

Toronto's combined goaltending statistics this year:
2.13 GAA, .933 sv%, 25 years average age, $2.41m total cap hit

Kind of irrelevant as its only been 16 games, and the leafs are in the middle of a huge hot streak right now, those numbers will inevitably change.
