Troy Mann said culture is the newest cliche in hockey and he’s going to bring structure and hard work ethic. Love it.

Structure: Boucher’s neutral zone offence neutralizer?

Work Ethic: bust your butt or sit on it! :)

Murphy was in charge of offense and powerplay. Players that had good offensive numbers in the past had no success under him. The powerplay had no creativity and never changed. His philosophy is to only shoot when you have grade "A" chances and so many shots were passed up.

Any new Randy Lee news to speak of? Is the play to say nothing until it blows over and quietly re-instate or remove him?

Does Belleville have a working agreement with any team in the ECHL for this coming season?

Had a working relationship with Brampton (Montreal's ECHL team) last year, and we have heard nothing different, so I'd assume we have a working relationship there again. Montreal basically have control of what role our guys play down there as their coaches are affiliated with Montreal's AHL team.

Pretty good rankings, but why is Formenton unranked?

He can only play NHL or OHL so I didn't want to fully include him. I included him partially because if he does make the team, he will push someone else down to the A.

Was really confused for a few seconds as to why Chris Kelly was on this list

Might Belleville be good this year?

Impossible to tell, it's unpredictable, like the NHL but even more. And at this point in time, it's hard to say what the line-up will look like but if you look at gillscottperron post #35, there's depth to have a decent to good AHL team. Coaching will be key. KK really didn't help last year IMO.

The problem in the AHL is that we as fans want them to play the younger players that we believe have a future in Ottawa. However, management which I include the coaches are looking for victories & they trusted the veterans to carry the load in both Ottawa & Belleville last season.

Since that never worked last yr maybe they will use the younger players a little more this season, however, they still added a number of AHL vets to replace the players they did not re-sign over the summer. Could be the same story again this season where they depend more on the vets rather than give the younger players more responsibility & playing time. I'm not sure what to expect this season from Belleville, I could see it go either way really.

Looking at Gil Scott-Perron's list I would get rid of about 12 players off that list which doesn't include the two Ottawa goalies that I think need to be replaced soon & two players I would send back to junior.

I disagree, it was clear going into the year last year that we would have a pretty crappy team. This year on paper we should atleast be a middle of the pack team in our division with some of the signings we made. Tambellini and Balisy should be legit top 6 forwards, not to mention our biggest AHL signing last year (Ben Sexton) was out for half the year. Stuart Percy is head and shoulders better than any defense man we had in our lineup and it's not like our goalies can be any worse than they were last year. I %100 agree with the last part of your post though, Troy Mann needs to piece it all together or it could easily be another long year.

Ok I guess it's a matter of opinion. For the 25+ years I have been following the NHL, I have seen so many "predictions" go wrong, more often than "predictions" go right. There's reason for optimism this season in Belleville but the team could still bust. Last year, it could have went better but I have no faith in KK coaching so I guess I could have write them off right away. Thought Taylor would have a better impact though. Many things didn't go Belleville's way too, IIRC White, Paul and Sexton were all injured in training camp? Anyway, I agree this year is more promising because AHLers seem to be of better quality and more/better prospects too. But the main thing for me is coaching.

Tambellini - Balisy - JOB
Perron - Sexton - Gagné
Tkachuk - Chlapik - Batherson
Paul - Brown - Rodewald
Luchuk - Carey - Sturtz
Leier - Scarf - Labate

- I'd get rid of Sexton, Scarf, Carey, Leier, Sturtz, Labate & maybe JOB from this list.

Percy - Bergman
Lajoie - Jaros
Englund - Burgdoerfer
Sieloff - Erkamps/Murray
- I'd get rid of Burgdoerfer, Erkamps, Murray & maybe Sieloff at this point.

McKenna - Hogberg/Gustavsson - I would not have signed McKenna.
