They should’ve kept trying to turn her heel. Even if they meant to book it like that.

Her demeanour in that December-January timeframe bared waaay too much resemblance to Conor and strayed away from Becky being Becky. I mentioned it in GDTs when she was doing it too. She would slip into it one week, out the next, back in for two, etc., until she finally shelved it after the Rumble or around there.

I think a lot of it was outside media making the comparison, driving the narrative. There wasn't a mainstream interview that didn't eventually lead to "Oh do you know Conor McGregor?" (LOL every Irish person knows one another). Maybe she felt the need to take that lead and play it up, but honestly I don't follow Conor McGregor so I have very little idea how he talks or walks other than those whiskey ads. I know she kinda had a strut going on, but she was doing that right after the SummerSlam match and nobody complained.

I think GKJ is right. She was at her best when she was heeling everyone. The Edge segment was the sign of that but WWE sees it and think "Oh, shit, she's getting cheered no matter what she does we need to soften her fast". It's hilarious that 20 plus years after the "There are no good guys or bad guys speech" Vince can't get past the mindset that heels are booked one way and faces the other and neither are good.

Doesn't the SI wrestling guy just come up with the most obvious storyline speculation and run with it?

We'll just have to wait and see if it's corroborated, I know there was another rumor (not confirmed) that coming out of WrestleMania they wanted a clear direction for next year, and there wasn't anything else last night that would apply.

There's only two women on the roster who can actually make for legitimate champions and that's Asuka and Charlotte. I don't buy the whole "The Man" gimmick. Her promos are terrible and the tough guy act is so forced. Shoulda known after that terrible segment last week with the cop cars that the main event wasn't gonna be great.

Charlotte has had WAY too many title reigns and it feels like she's been booked almost Cena-like.

Not her fault only two or three other women are capable.of actually wrestling. Most of them are terrible workers and look like total crap in the ring. I wish current WWE actually valued in ring ability, but it seems to not matter much. I agree with your booking take, but again I just think it speaks to the overall lack of actual talent in the WWE currently.

All the real talented wrestlers get buried or really shitty gimmicks and the ones people can't stand and have no talent get pushed.

The other thing about Charlotte is that her father happened to have 16 title reigns, so she does too. That’s why she can have a 13-day title reign and not have it be dumb.

They weren’t even hiding the fact she was playing a cartoon character on NXT. I remember seeing a #1 contenders 4-way and thinking how out of place she looked.

Seriously, Dana Brooke is the most random jobber currently employed by WWE. In a decade she's going to be first on a lot of listicles of forgotten whatever you want to call this era wrestlers.
