I grew up with the North American releases, where "With The Beatles" and "Please Please Me" morphed into "Meet The Beatles", "The Beatles Second Album" and others, "Rubber Soul" was more folksy, and "Help!" was largely a film score. I enjoy the US albums, but long since converted to the proper UK releases.
The first time I heard gems like "There's a Place" and "Misery" was on the 1980 North American album "Beatles Rarities".
