I am praying for the Canes to take the Devils' spot in the playoffs.

Looks like the Wildcard this year will be a battle of mediocrity to the wire, one where most of the Atlantic is too bad to be even considered mediocre.

Whoever squeaks into eighth is getting the honor of a Tampa-administered proctological procedure, and if that's the canes that's still 1000x more awesome than any of the previous 9 seasons

Very good point and I can definitely see that happening too. My point was really that if we do make it I'll consider it a success even if we get swept in the first round. I just want to see the streak end

Biggest disaster will be the soupy ice tonight.

I mean, as dumb I think it is to have NC State and the Canes both play at home and on the road the same weekends and not alternate between one playing at PNC the other on the road (and also to have a game start at 2 instead of noon to give the crew a little more ample time), it is better than having them play on Sunday.
