While most teams are sitting out their potential trade pieces...Dubas craps the bed again.

Most teams who are selling are also not in a playoff race

And the media hype on trading Barrie could also be a complete fabrication to generate deadline day hype for ratings ... Wouldn't be the first time that happened.

How is it dumb? They aren't trying to trade him. They are trying to win hockey games. Him not playing would be highly dumb, especially if they aren't trying to trade him.

This is so much different than teams that are actually selling. If you can't see that, then you really have to take a step back and evaluate.

I can't believe this is even a discussion.

You don't scratch a guy because you're maybe going to trade him.

You scratch him when a deal is already in place. There was 110% no deal made in place to deal Barrie. If there was, he wouldn't have been in. Not because of the concern from the Leafs, but because of the concern of the team acquiring him.

Holy f*** can people be thick.

Unbelievable we’re still in a playoff race after all the injuries/Babcock. The boys are hanging in there after what should’ve been a write off year.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised with injuries at this point. Don't think he was going anywhere anyway. This perhaps increases the chances of a trade (or signing) though...just not that one.

Marner, Tavares, Rielly, Muzzin, Andersen and now Barrie all missing extended time. Rough year.

Barrie absolutely should have started in this game, we just have terrible luck.

It makes more sense to blame a witch in the boonies doing a voodoo spell on Barrie than it does blaming Dubas.

While the man games lost to injury aren't amongst the highest this season it just seems that they've lost a couple of key players at various points in time throughout the season.

Marner, Tavares, Rielly, Muzzin, AJ, Dermott, Hyman, Barrie, Andersen...

I don't think they've had a healthy starting line up all season long.

Most teams sitting players aren’t fighting for every point they can get, playing Barrie meant less ice time for Marincin which is better for the team. Barrie played 60 games this season and didn’t get hurt the chances of him getting hurt tonight were completely out weighed by the need for 2 points, IMO playing him was the right choice and a no brainer.

People are missing the point. Barrie should have been moved because hes a terrible defenceman whos only purpose (points) isn't being accomplished.

Dubas just isn't ready.

They should have traded Barrie by now.

Obviously, he gone from the Leafs, Kadri for Kerfoot is the trade, LMFAO!!!

This Dubas = makes a move . . . does not really pan out . . . get the excuses ready . . .then it gets worst . . .

After a while, you got to relieve him and MLSE of the misery.

Like a starting pitcher, who happens to get knocked around, maybe his stuff is good that day, but sooner or later if he cannot get out of these jams, you got to take him out.

Dubas is out of lives.
