Porco gives you some size, speed, skill, scoring 20 goals last year with Saginaw. Drafted by Dallas in the 5th round, and IMO bolsters the top 6. I believe he has good potential and could potentially have a breakout year in Barrie playing top minutes

Ian Lemieux is still a work in progress but provides you with another option on the back end and especially in the near future.

Colts had high hopes for Dalton Duhart coming over from London in the Joey Keane trade, but got off to a slow start to the season after registering 1 point and was scratched multiple times. Change of scenery may do him good, especially playing in his hometown!

With the way Foerster is playing, the top 6 is looking pretty strong right now (Suzuki, Foerster, Tortora, Willms, Pekar, Bignell) although if they are gonna go deep this year to get past Owen Sound, Sudbury, etc, IMO they still need that legitimate goal scorer that can put this team over the top.

Going to be interesting to see the way things plan out within the next couple weeks. Colts now have 8 d man on the roster (with Cameron Battling for the final OA spot). Gotta imagine Prospal & Cameron will be the odd ones out but that could change.

Was interesting to see Aidan Brown and Jack York scratched Saturday night, gotta wonder if another trade is in place. I know it was rumoured that London Knights forward Nathan Dunkley was on the trade market and willing to come to Barrie.

Arturs Silovs has been stealing the starting position playing 8 games with a 5-2 record & a 3.11 GAA & a 0.902 SV%
Jet Greaves has been the backup as of late only playing in 5 games with a 3-2 record & a 4.60 GAA & a 0.849 SV%
Gotta imagine head coach Warren Rychel is rolling with the hot goalie.

Colts play Hamilton on Wednesday, Saginaw on Friday, and finish off the road trip on Saturday in Flint.

Colts sit in second place in the Central, 1 point behind Sudbury with 3 games in hand.

Barrie loses 5-4 in a day game today against Hamilton. Colts had 2 goals called back and had lots of chances but ran into penalty trouble once again.

Tyson Foerster continues his hot start tying his last years points in only 13 games with 23 points.

What do you think is up with Greaves? I watched the game today and he seems to lose his net pretty frequently, which never happened last year. Think it's just a confidence issue after they drafted Silovs? Went from a .911 save % last year to an .845 save % this year. Obviously it's still early but he's played in nearly a quarter of the games he did last year so not that crazy of a small sample size

Probably bang on with it being a confidence thing. Had an extremely strong preseason and got a shutout in the season opener. Hasn't been the same since being left in for all 10 goals against Owen Sound. Hopefully he turns it around soon.

Much agreed with you and Staples. I though for sure with Jet attending Columbus's camp this summer it would have prepared him to have a massive season. I always think back to last year when he had back to back 50 save performances, it's only early on in the season so a bounce back is very likely going to happen. Arturs Silovs has been impressive and like mentioned before that could be a very dampering affect on Jet.

Colts get away with a 4-3 win over Saginaw in the shootout! Penalties once again costing Barrie as they had a 3-1 lead in the third and ran into penalty trouble and Saginaw was able to tie it up. Suzuki and Foerster continue their point streaks and Arturs Silovs played great once again!

Barrie takes on Flint tomorrow night.

Forward Aidan Brown has been scratched the last 3 games. Gotta wonder if the team is working on a deal to move the OA or are simply weighing their options at the moment as he and Chris Cameron continue to battle for that final OA spot. Could also be a potentially injury......?

D man Jack York has been scratched the last 2/3 games for the Colts as well. End of the season standout last season and a free agent invite to Montreal Canadiens camp had a very strong pre-season but is off to a very slowstart with just 3 points. Is he on the trade board as well....???

Looking like Ryan Suzuki's eye injury is really serious. Suzuki suffered a high stick in Saginaw and left the game and did not return. According to OHLInsiders he is returning to London to see an eye specialist and Barrie has him listed as week to week.
Tough news for the team, hopefully everything okay and he can be back in the lineup soon!

Which Barrie Colts player has stood out the most to you this season?

For me, it's Tyson Foerster

Pekar, Suzuki and Forester have been incredible. Tucker when playing a tough but more composed game is a force back there.

To be honest I was surprised to see Rhodes make the team out of camp this year. Had high hopes for him in his first couple seasons and wish him the best in the USHL.
