Leafs arent trading hyman, he is literally babcocks favourite player works like a dog every shift. I get players can be had at a price but for a energy guy i love having hyman on the leafs.

How about a 2nd instead of Hyman? We don't need another LW, and we can't afford him anyway.
don't think the Leafs are in a position to trade futures for roster forwards, we have too many as is and we'll need reinforcements out of the system in the next few years

Fair enough. Looks like there isn't really a trade to be made. I appreciate the response, however, and it is nice to see read an informed and intelligent discussion between our respective fanbases.

Every team needs players like Hyman, he's amongst the very best forcheckers in the league and is a top penalty-killer. What you would do with him is utilize him and be a harder team to play against.

Well, if you cant do anything useful with the puck (like scoring goals for example) you have to be good at something else. Like defense, PK or hitting other guys at least.

So, no. There is no team in NHL that actually needs that sort of scrubs. The reason why the guys like Hyman do have jobs, it because NHL does not have 500+ skilled players to fill in all the lines in every team.

Not sure why Toronto would have any interest whatsoever.. as far as I can tell we have Marlie options that have been more impressive in the AHL than Barb has.

Say no more! That just makes too much sense not to be true:thumbu:

He's still a third liner even if he's not with Matthews. He's just not a top six scoring threat. Barb is like a 4th liner at this point.
He is on the Blues, but probably still a 3rd line option on many teams. He took a step back last year and needs to re-establish that he is a dependable top 9 player.

No, who would believe that? He is a good player though, a hard worker, but he doesn't have the finish to play on the top line consistently. He was ok in Toronto, but there is a reason- his offence that he was move off it. Good player though.

You realize just being a leafs player/prospect doesnt give you value
This post just shows that there's leaf hate on this site. Everyone who liked the post included.

Apparently Hyman isn't worth some ahl scrub these days.
