Yes, but the acquisition of a dozen draft picks through trades in this mock is completely unrealistic.

Toronto's only traded Gunnarsson, Blacker, Gustavsson, MacArthur, and picks he already had. True he's pulling a Belichick with all the trading down, but it's not like he's tearing apart the team for picks like I've seen some mock GMs do. If he starts dumping Schenn and Phaneuf for picks, yes that would be completely unrealistic, but I could easily see Brian Burke trying to wheel these kind of deals. You don't think Burke would take 15th overall for Gunnarsson if offered?

JEI has done an unreal job drafting the Leafs, to the point that I actually check this thread to keep seeing what he's done. Moving up to 15th and moving down to multiple picks in the 30s is completely realistic and many Leafs fans hope will be a reality.

The only thing I'd say that may be unrealistic is taking 3 none NA players with the first 3 picks. Thats a criticism of Burke cause so far I'd be thrilled with an actual draft like this as a Leafs fan.

"With the 39th selection, in the 2011 NHL Draft, the Toronto Maple Leafs are proud to select..."

"From the Sarnia Sting in the OHL, Brett Ritchie"
49 GP: 21 G - 20 A - 41 PTS - 47 PIMS

Maple Leaf Scouts: He missed time with injury and illness this year, but he still had a strong showing. We had him as a first-round talent. Had he played a full year he probably would have hit well over 30 goals. He showed his power forward ability at the U-18. He knows where he needs to be in-front of the net and has good hand-eye coordination. Great array of skills for a player his size and can play mean when he wants to. Skating will need to be a focus for improvement, but he does move well for a guy his size.

Toronto Maple Leafs 2011 Draft:

1st Round, 15th Overall: Joel Armia, RW, Ässät (SM-Liiga)
2nd Round, 32nd Overall: Victor Rask, C, Leksand (Allsvenskan)

"From the Sault. Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the OHL, Ryan Sproul"
61 GP: 14 G - 19 A - 33 PTS - 36 PIMS

Maple Leaf Scouts: We really like this kid, we feel he has top-four potential. He's a late bloomer, but he has some great talent. In our opinion, he's capable of being a big-time threat on the PP. He's also got size on his side at 6'4. Not only that, but he moves extremely well for a big man. Adding weight and working on his overall game are required, but that will come with experience.

Lessio12215.jpg

"From the Oshawa Generals in the OHL, Lucas Lessio"
66 GP: 27 G - 27 A - 54 PTS - 66 PIMS

Maple Leaf Scouts: We are overjoyed to add a player of Lessio's skill-set to our group. He's an extremely talented offensive player, and also has the physical stature to work the corners and play a power game. There have been questions surrounding his consistency, but the fact he's a die-hard Maple Leafs fan should provide ample motivation.
