Condors eliminated after falling 2-1 to Stockton. Game was tied 1-1 late in the 3rd but Bako needed a regulation win so pulled the goalie...no dice, EN goal against, game over. Renhart with his 7th goal in the losing effort.

I'd bring up LaLeggia, Fontaine, Lander, Puljujarvi, Reinhart, Simpson and Fayne to skate with the big club.

No love for Oesterle? You've got to think he'd get into a game situation before Simpson. Paigin too, let him get a taste of what this city's like in the playoffs.

Plus even though he's not most loved here, I'd also have Gustavsson in on the car trip going from Bakersfield to San Jose.

I believe Oesterle has been out since that hit from behind a while ago.

Agree on all those names. If Benning falters I think I'd give Fayne a shot with Nurse before I'd put Gryba back in.

Yep I would not be surprised to see Fayne get some games in this series. He was part of that NJ team that went to the finals a few years back and was a key part of that defense.

If we move on past SJ, Reinhart, JP and Lander may get one or two as well.

I get having a division where all the teams play less than the others, but having teams in the same division playing different amounts of games is the strangest thing I've seen.

Lander still did finish with the best points-per-game ratio in the AHL of any player that played more than 10 games (as my arbitrary cut off point). Was a pretty successful season for him down there. I still think there's a player in there somewhere. I'm just not sure that it's here where he figures it out, and puts it together on the big squad in the NHL. Maybe too much pressure or something, playing in a fishbowl type of market. Who knows; it's just a wild guess.

But I do have a feeling he'll eventually sort it out, and become a good 3rd liner who can put up around 30-40 points a season (like a 15g/25a guy), while being good on faceoffs, on the PK, and being good defensively. I think he has a lot of drive and it will make it happen in the NHL eventually, and obviously he does have some talent. Just a gut feeling I have. Just doesn't seem it's destined to be with us.

If he's playing PK and what not that's elite 3rd liner numbers.

Still hope he gets the call up to the big team. He's been a good sport throughout his development. He didn't cry and go home like Omark or Hartikainen. He stuck it out through the dark years and developed a knack for winning faceoffs and killing penalties. Perhaps a sniff of playoff action could draw him back over the ocean in a year or two.

To those that watch the games, How Joe Gambardella looked ? Does he look like he'll be a future NHLer ?

Looked great in the games I've seen. Very smart and works hard. He plays way bigger than his frame. I've seen very few guys his size protect the puck as well as he can. He is also an excellent puck hound at both ends of thr ice. Made a couple of sweet passes in his debut.

From what I've seen, solid. Good signing. Might be tapped for 3C in the long run.

Though I've got to say - and I'm pretty sure I did say sometime last year - I see a lot of a guy like Hendricks in Josh Currie. On the older side for a prospect but does a lot of little things right, doesn't shy away from rough stuff, plays C, and very, very quietly had 21 goals. Still only 24. Might be an NHLer there yet.

Seen him in a couple games and he was great. Awesome in board battles, plays a lot bigger than his size, and shows flashes of being a great playmaker, leading me to think he can play with skill. If Letestu gets claimed via expansion, I'd expect Gambardella to step into 4C.

Currie with a hat trick last night. He is still under 25, may be decent depth on the big club in the future.

I doubt Lander checked out. Considering how he has worked these years I find it odd to see posters going down this route.

5 pts in 7 games in April, seeing his pace it looks a bit off but to be honest I don't see how that kind if stat line says that he has checked out.

In our last game which was a throw away one at that Lander played the last 2.09 minutes of the third period taking all of the faceoffs to force OT. All of it was in the dzone and I thought after each one that he would go back to the bench but he did not. He stayed and kept playing the puck. I was amazed to be on the ice that long after a hard fought games with very few shots that he was still there. He even played on the first shift of the OT. I did hear that the KHL offered him over $1mil to go there, but I wish he were here. His PK and face offs are good. As a specialist he would have been fine.

All of the new kids were good. Paigin and Gambi stood out. In the last game along with another Dman, paigin held two SJ guys along the boards. Eventually his partner realized that Paigin had both guys by himself so he backe doff about 15 feet and Paigin still had both of them pinned. He finishes his checks and can pass. Gambi looks like he has been playing AHL for several months. he fit perfecting in the lineup. Polei played his first game the last night and he was hitting as well. He took one penalty for crosschecking a player hard into the boards behine the net in the ozone. Campbell and Mantha played as well. All of the rookies played in the same game while Fontaine was sat. In short 20% of the team were rookies who really never palyed the game. SJ sat out their top 5 but the rookies kept us in the game. Ellis was on fire. I think we had a total of 16-18 Shots while SJ had 37. Ellis made saves that I have zero clue of how he saw it. His rebound control was stellar as well.

Does Fleming come back?

I hope not. If I were Chiarelli, I would be focusing on legitimately improving our AHL organization. AHL teams that do well typically do produce better prospects/players.

I think the ahl is where we still might have some stink from the previous 10 years. A few buddy hires still floating around potentially.
