I should have prefaced with: Our LW is shit compared to how insanely good we are at center and right wing.

Maybe he is like that I don't know but most hockey players are all about the Cup. We don't play for 20+ years for a paycheck. The pay has improved dramatically over the years but it is still about the Cup and the chase for it.

"We"...??? got some NHL service time in?
not being a smarta$$ just a funny way to word it...and I don't know Johnsson maybe he isn't like that but if the cup is the "ultimate goal" shouldn't the ego be shelved?

I'm sure this has been posted, but check this out

The bottom video is a great example of things I love to see. Instead of trying to go through the player and potentially turning it over, he chips it past him, hits him with a speed burst to go around and just takes the puck on the other side. That's a well managed puck with a great finish.

Isn’t that just what dump and chase looks like when the defence is really bad

Well yeah, but I mean, you can't have it all with a salary cap. There's always going to "the other guy" on our top 2/3 lines. It's kinda always been that way anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kerfoot on the LW and have Spezza and Shore as the two bottom C's. Aberg should also be able to fill a wing spot in the bottom 6 as well.

Kinda surprised to see Mike come out and say ( 50 sec mark) a guy with zero years NHL experience is going to be a big part of our team next year.

Babs appears to be correct :sarcasm:

Also he seems to be adjusting well and getting comfortable in the locker room

Was a little surprised at his game, the rookie Mikheyev played like a good NHL veteran winger.

Did not expect that.

If he tries to bull his way around the net, then wow! Coach Babcock has another Hyman!

Another long lost son!

You can't ask more, he is as advertised, good 2 way winger with speed, size and skill. He is quiet capable of playing on JT or Matthews line but we need him on our 3rd because of his 2 way and Pk skills, they can use him on either lines when we are playing bigger / tougher line.

If he can become what Hyman is for t he team -a depth player who doesn't look out of place alongside the better skilled guys on the team the that's all we can ask for.

I think he's similar to Hyman but Hyman is a bit more physical, Mikheyev seems like a more talented scorer.

Glad he got his 1st goal and assist out of the way in his first game. That should settle down any nerves he has. Now he can just play and not worry about it. This guy is going to be very good. You can just see his skill, IQ and speed already, plus he looks like a good Pk'er as well. Great pickup.

Only seen this guy through pre season and KHL highlights, but I think we have a player here.

Good size, speed, hands and he seems to have good hockey sense. I've liked his 2 way play, and the way he got open for his goal was beautiful.

Don't want to get ahead of myself but I could see him pushing Kappy or Johnny down the depth chart. Small sample size, but would love to see this guy with either top line on the LW.
