Definitely seems a bit high. Big risk. If AG plays well this season Sakic will be a damn god of all gods. Ultimate put your balls on the table move from Joe and company

Probably would've been less if it was a two-year deal but they likely paid a bit more to get him for three years. No issue with this contract.

Avs will pay less for their two goalies than just for Kuemper next season. Will it work? We'll see.....

$750k more than I’d have liked. Tough to doubt Sakic and MacFarland right now, though….just seems like it could have been lower considering the doubts around this guy and the opportunity the Avs present him.

Sakic obviously believes in him so I'm guessing he got more for the 3rd year. Basically hoping he pops off here and you've got a cheap starting goalie for 3 years vs him trying to cash in after two.

Guessing you could have signed him for 2.8-3 if it was only two years.
