Guess both parties wanted to avoid arbitration and another ugly situation? Just 1 year...Z clearly wants a payday, very much taking a prove it deal

Perfect deal. He has got some stuff to prove, he proves it he'll get a nice deal moving forward.

I feel like this will bite us ultimately in terms of overall AAV on the next one. But if both sides weren't going to agree, I suppose this is better than months of disagreement until arbitration.

I'd guess that for that much term Z would want something that starts with a 5.
If we can lock him up for 5 years at 5 per I probably would pull the trigger. I know that may be a bit of an overpay now but feel it will be fair down the line. I mean we gave ian cole 4.25 a year and i much prefer zadorov even if more inconsistent. Plus the cap and contracts should be decently higher by then

Kind of a prove yourself deal. Glad he's signed. Would have liked a couple years at least but at least he's still an RFA next year

I'm going to guess that if Byram is ready to go in 20-21, the Avs may just move on from Z.
