Wonder if the plan is going with a Gru and Francouz duo next year.
Yeah, definitely curious as to what the plan is.

If I had to guess, the Avs sign another tweener goalie and let him and Francouz battle it out for backup.

It's a gamble, but I like it.

Let's remember that this is what we wanted come christmas when either Francouz or Grubi has been stinking the place up ;)

Based on his interview with Eurolanche, I don't think he would've re-signed unless they told him he'd be the NHL back-up.

950k AAV, very nice.

Honestly this is what I believe people should have been predicting. He gets a raise, and it's a 1-way deal and he'll be in the NHL next year. But 1M was probably the tops because he had all but 2 games of NHL experience. He proves well he's a UFA at the end of it and will cash in then.

Yeah that's it for Varly I guess. Too bad really because Varly is an awesome goalie just ruined by injuries

Holy cheap batman? I was guessing something around 1.5M. I feel like Sakic got together with Frank and they decided to make Edmonton look even more dumb.

This should help if the Avs do want to be aggressive this off-season. If we can get some of the depth positions locked up before FA starts and with some sort of discount it would be awesome.

I hope they bring in a veteran to share the Eagles job with Werner. Ideally someone that has a decent NHL record that can help out if Francouz or Grubi isn't getting it done.

That job is probably quite attractive for a veteran thanks to us having the AHL team and NHL team in the same region.

Any suggestions on names we can get? I'm thinking someone like what Peter Budaj was 2-3 years ago.

Excellent news...I’m guessing they promised him the backup spot
