Teams were able to lock in Doughty, Chabot and Miro coming off their ELCs for the full 8 yrs. Makar is just a different beast though, hard to compare.

It's a discount in the flat cap world. His ELC time has been equally great as Rantanen, probably even more impressive despite just two shortend regular seasons, and he got slightly less than Rantanen.
