Why would the Rangers pick Montoya at 6th when they`ve got Blackburn, Lundqvist and LaBarbera? There is no need for another goalie...

Because it is always good to have good goalie depth. Just look at San Jose. It is just for insurance if Blackburn doesn't pan out and if he does they can always trade one for any needs they may have later on

Rangers lack potential top line players. They will take Ladd, Radulov, Tukonen, Schremp, Olesz and Picard before a goalie. Barker (probably wont be available) and Thelen might also get heavy consideration. I really can`t see them taking Montoya or Shwartz at all...

As a Sabre fan I'd be happy as hell to land Tukonen.

To paraphrase everybody else, are Lundqvist, Blackburn and LaBarbera not good enough for the ranger$? Especially when Montoya is certain to be around at #10, there is no chance of them drafting him and passing on the likes of Radulov, Tukounen, Picard or Thelen.

Cool, Calgary wins the cup! This mock draft rules!

Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised if Sutter gambles on Graham at 19.

A 6'6 monster center is just up Sutter's alley. I haven't much about this guy's scoring touch, how is it?

Its more realistic that NYR drafts Schremp at 6 and if they wanted to move up in the draft and pick Montoya(which is unlikey) they would move to try and get buf's 1st rounder and draft Montoya before Edmonton gets a chance too.

  12. Minnesota:

    LW: Veilleux, Eckerblom, Boogaard, Melanson
    RW: Wanvig, Foy, Irmen
Defense: Reitz, Bolduc, Misharin, Heid, Michalek, Burns

You see anything wrong with that?

if it costs the caps 2 first and a high second to only move up 11 spots and take wolski, i say no thank you. for the caps to trade 3 for 1 it better be into the top ten to get thelan or someone like that. if they can't do that stay w/ the picks and take. smid or hedman(both of whom i think will be a 1st rounder) and lyamin.

i don't think wolski is worth 3 guys. the caps would treade up for o'niel or smid or valabik to fill needs and take the bpa, imo.

A bunch of those guys are absolutely nothing special at all and are likely career minor leaguers or bottom line players. If Boogaard ever makes the NHL he will be the worst hockey player to ever play in that league.

It's plausible that the Caps keep 26/27 overall for one of the five good defenseman in that range, and trade 29/30th overall, (1st), 33rd overall (2nd), and 57th overall (2nd), up to take Robbie Schremp.

He plays for Dale Hunter's London Knights, who have a close connection to Caps management. Enough for Hunter's endorsement of Nash to spurr McPhee to fall just short of getting him in a deal on draft day a couple years ago.

  16. Exactly, we have no strength on the left, our right is strong with Wanvig, Foy, and Irmen but our weakness lands on the left with Melanson, Boogaard (who is a fan favorite and a very effective enforcer but is going to take years to actually work with the kid so he can play some level of hockey), and Eckerblom.

    Our defensemens rock!

Misharin is totally unknown but is really good, Bolduc needs to fill out but looks really good, Burns is a solid top 4 defenseman right now, we'll see when camp breaks out how he does, Reitz and Michalek are great depth defenseman.

At the moment Wild absolutely and positively needs help on the Wings.

OK I see what you mean now. With your original post it was not at all clear what you were getting at.
