Because it is always good to have good goalie depth. Just look at San Jose. It is just for insurance if Blackburn doesn't pan out and if he does they can always trade one for any needs they may have later on

Rangers lack potential top line players. They will take Ladd, Radulov, Tukonen, Schremp, Olesz and Picard before a goalie. Barker (probably wont be available) and Thelen might also get heavy consideration. I really can`t see them taking Montoya or Shwartz at all...

To paraphrase everybody else, are Lundqvist, Blackburn and LaBarbera not good enough for the ranger$? Especially when Montoya is certain to be around at #10, there is no chance of them drafting him and passing on the likes of Radulov, Tukounen, Picard or Thelen.

Its more realistic that NYR drafts Schremp at 6 and if they wanted to move up in the draft and pick Montoya(which is unlikey) they would move to try and get buf's 1st rounder and draft Montoya before Edmonton gets a chance too.

i don't think wolski is worth 3 guys. the caps would treade up for o'niel or smid or valabik to fill needs and take the bpa, imo.

Misharin is totally unknown but is really good, Bolduc needs to fill out but looks really good, Burns is a solid top 4 defenseman right now, we'll see when camp breaks out how he does, Reitz and Michalek are great depth defenseman.
At the moment Wild absolutely and positively needs help on the Wings.
