Erie let their HC, BJ Adams go today. Who out there in the ranks is a suitable HC at the OHL level and willing to come to Erie?

Maybe someone like Scott Wray? Younger coach who's been an assistant coach in NB for the past few seasons. Might be the right time for him to take over a team for himself after NB takes another run this season and resets.

Erie needs someone with experience that also had success at at least similar levels of play. I don’t think they can afford to gamble on a young guy unless it’s a no brainer, hot commodity name. I said from day one Adams was a huge risk and minimal upside. At best, he was just a guy. At worst, he couldn’t do it. Yet they were cheap and brought him back after a half season of interim coaching. Poor move. They also shouldn’t be going after a washed up name like Stan Butler (which rumors pointed to yesterday). Not good enough.

If they want to turn things around and actually start winning again, they need to spend real money on a real name who can actually develop their players. Otherwise, you just are bringing in the next Hartsburg/Adams who won’t last long. Time to stop being cheap.
