On May 6, 1997 the National Hockey League established an elite team for the bottom one percent of its players. Its purpose was to teach the lost art of complete and total offensive apathy and to ensure that the handful of men who graduated were the laziest hockey players in the world.
They succeeded.
Today, the League calls them the Carolina Hurricanes. The players call it:
Last time, the Hurricanes shot down the Flyers over home waters, causing CINC-Philly to pull the ejection handle on Coach Peter Laviolette. There are more bogeys on the radar though as the Flyers make another attempt to strike PNC Arena.

Will the Canes shoot down the Flyers yet again to break their 5-game losing skid? Will Pete Dawg stand firm and intercept incoming pucks? Will the Canes and Flyers choose to settle this with a volleyball match instead (shirts vs skins, natch?) Or will the only Mighty Wings in sight will be at McDonalds after the game?
