One time I got a signed card back 3 years later when I used to collect autos through the mail. It was an NFL player (Terrell Owens), but still!

What was even more fascinating is that I sent it to the Eagles facility when he was on the team and he sent it back when he was a Cowboy. Fascinating.
I've seen people get take anywhere from 2-8 years to get their cards back but the longest I've ever waited was probably about a year. Kopitar and Tavares both took about that long and those were both within my first year or two of collecting. A few weeks ago I heard back from both Bill Guerin and Rod Brind'Amour after nearly a year. For the most part though, I typically safely write it off if it hasn't come back after a year or so.

Check out this article: this is by far the longest wait I've ever heard.

I got a few old ones back over the summer that I'm not sure if I posted. I didn't record them here but I may have in the miscellaneous thread that was up at the time. These were all in June, when I was in the process of interviewing for and starting my job so it's honestly a blur, lol. In any case I'll post them again after almost half a year.

Jordan Staal c/o Carolina

Adam Henrique c/o Anaheim.

These were both sent in September so I had assumed them goners at that point. Both were postmarked locally so I guess both stay put for the offseason (Staal's from North Carolina and Henrique's from Southern California).

Chara c/o Boston

I distinctly remember posting this in the miscellaneous NHL thread because I was expecting it to be a longshot for him to return it. I was pleased to find it in my mailbox at the end of my first week of work and surprised that he took the time to sign it about a week after losing in the Final.

Been a couple weeks since I last visited HF, let alone posted. Got a few updates, three through the mails and four in person autographs.

Joe Veleno c/o Grand Rapids. I sent this one about a week before Christmas without realizing he had been selected to the WJC but it still came back about four weeks later.

Sean Durzi c/o Ontario. Sent in early October; got them back on Tuesday

Barry Trotz c/o Islanders (I think it was the Barclay's address). Sent in mid December and received it today. He included two notepad letterhead sheets as padded protection for the pictures which I thought was cool.

On Monday a few of the Hershey Bears did an appearance at the local Dave and Buster's and I got autographs from each one. There's another appearance this coming Wednesday with four different players and I'd love to go again if all is well.

Hershey had another meet and greet at Dave and Buster's tonight so I went again.

Riley Sutter (son of Ron), who unfortunately spelled my name wrong.

Matt Moulson was also scheduled to be there and he was my main target. Unfortunately, when I was about five people away in line (the players are all at one table), he got taken aside by a Bears rep and led into the arcade area so I didn't get to meet him. The one attendant said he'd be back but didn't say how long and I really didn't feel like waiting around. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't bummed because he was probably the one I wanted to meet the most.

Bought the last box of 15-16 Contours at my local card shop hoping for the longshot of a McDavid rookie auto. I almost had a heart attack when I pulled this card, only seeing the Oilers uniform at first

I did pull this, too, though- not an autograph, but the same card sold for $48 on Ebay last month. But I dont have any other McDavid memorabilia cards yet so I'm not planning to get rid of it or anything.

Two other autographs pulled today (the Monday was from a different box, the first non hockey box I ever bought)

I'm planning on starting a hockey card channel on YouTube within the coming weeks (I actually have the channel up, I just won't open and record until i have proper equipment, which I'm shopping for now). I'm building up stock so I can have enough material to upload semi regularly (the brown bag is a grab bag from my local card shop, I bought all the boxes and tins in pic picture from there). Excited (and nervous) to get going soon.

Here's my channel and first video. Feel free to watch on mute because my voice is awful. I opened a box of this year's Ice for my first video (which, ironically, didn't have any autographs).

I’ll be subbing after this comment. You’re nervous and it shows. Take a deep breath and relax. Just pretend your not recording for an audience, and you’re doing this by yourself without taping it.
Not a bad first video all in all bud. Good luck with the breaks.

I'm honestly tongue twisted to begin with and this being the first time I've ever recorded myself for this (not counting test runs) made it worse. I was also fixated on giving that little channel intro at the beginning and was concerned about leaving out something I wanted to mention. Plus I hate, despise how my voice sounds recorded (but doesn't everyone?). It might not show in the video but I did feel more and more comfortable as the box went on. I'm definitely expecting kinks for a while but I'm definitely not as worried about future videos as I was the first time. I'm not used to talking during my box breaks, let alone narrating them, at least not yet, ha. I always wonder how sports commentators can do it.
