What a lucky draw for Kenin getting a tired Gauff, a nervous Barty and a tired beat up Mug who DFed at the end, we'll see if she's the real deal or not as the season and years go on, still she looked like maybe she has something, congrats.

Muguruza was just spent mentally and physically sadly, beat 3 top 10 players plus Pavl was tough too, now she's a higher seed she'll have kinder draws and do better.

I'm hoping Thiem can finally break through kinda, his gamestyle though looks like it takes a lot out, hope he has enough left, hitting through Nadal and now Nole is far from easy.

Thiem has to come out strong and aggressive and take it to Nole in the first set. If Thiem doesn't win the first set, it's hard to imagine that he will win the match.

Thiem started well, but showed some nerves in his first service game.

He's probably awake now, but hard hill to climb to get back into this set. Hard to see him take 3 out of 4 if he loses the first set, though he has come back from a set down against Novak before... just not in a match of this importance.

Wow. Thiem breaks out of nowhere. Back on serve, 4-3.

Thiem consolidates with a tough hold including saving a break point.

It would seem reasonable to say that Nole is safely on the road to #17.

.....or not.

Out of the blue, Nole breaks himself, 1-2. Messy tennis all around....Djjokovic breaks back only to return the favour and losses the set 6-4.

Djokovic just dug another hole, getting broken in the first game of the third set. Thiem can determine his own fate, though the set has a long, long way to go.

Suddenly Thiem has complete control of the set, up two service breaks, 3-love in the third....now 4-1 as Nole finally gets on the board. All of the recent trouble started when he picked up two time violations earlier in the set.

Nole two sets to one down. And concentration not the greatest.

Nole recovered his concentration in the fourth set and took it fairly easily. Have to like Nole's chances now, as Dominik seems to be gradually slowing down..

Nole breaks for 2-1 and calmly serves it out. Hell of a turnaround after the third set. He really earned #17.
