Auston looks to be on the next level this season with the work he put in over the summer. Babcock keeps talking about how great of shape he is in when he showed up for camp. What do you think his goal/points totals will be.

Is a 50 goal season possible? 100 point season?

His shot was already deceptive last season. Now it’s like a Death Star cannon on the mark and nearly unstoppable.

He looks more confident this season and the power play pairing with Tavares and Marner is guaranteed to have at least a 50%-70% of scoring per game if they get an opportunity to go on the PP

40-49 goals, 80-99 points. Will achieve new personal highs across all three stats. In the running for the Rocket and go PPG, if healthy for a full season.

We can just potentially win our games if the opposing players are lazy and take dumb penalites. We will capitalize and score 2 or 3 a game

with all that PP time, he is going to explode this season (and cost a fortune for his next contract)

55 Goals
50 Assists
105 Points

I really think he's gonna hit 50. He looks faster and good luck taking the puck away from him down low.

He scored 40 his first year and was on a 45 goal pace last year over a full season. No reason why he can't increase by five goals again this year, especially being set up by Marner on the PP all year.

I'll say 51 goals and 42 assists for 93 points if healthy.

This question depends on when Nylander returns.

His stats with Ennis or Nylander would be significantly different at ES 5v5 play.

I think that there will be a big increase just getting rid of Hyman with Marleau.

Marleau had 47 points last year and Hyman had 40.

Ennis had 22 points and was bought out vs. Nylander who had 62 points.

I believe Ennis vs Nylander is the deciding factor from me.

49 goals 46 assists in 71 games. Losses the rocket because of an dirty hit. Comes back and wins smythe in the playoffs.
49 goals in 71 games is a crazy pace. The best thing is that Matthews is easily capable.

There are few threads and polls on Matthews prediction - do we really need all these threads

last season he would have been at 45ish goals and 80-85 points if healthy. without powerplay production to speak of.

I think 50 goals is a distinct possibility in any season going forward. not too many guys I'd say that about, Matthews is one of them. He doesn't have a shot, it's more of a cruise missile.

I'm not sure this season will be his peak year careerwise. honestly I really doubt it. he's still learning what he can be capable of right now.
