So today is the day...

Who are the prominent UFA's looking for homes as of today?

Those drafted, and having played their 4 yrs, but not interested in signing with their draft team...

I know Kerfoot is one... who else?

Will Butcher is apparently another one, but a lot of people seem lukewarm on him. Especially Avs fans, but that's understandable.

Tomorrow is the day, actually.

These are the guys who are available:

Butcher, Kerfoot, and maybe Toninato are the only ones to be offered NHL contracts, imo.

I'd add Byron to that list. I think he's a lock to get a deal.

A guy I'm not sure gets an NHL deal, but I personally really like is Grant Besse. Kid is a little buzz-saw. Good skill, great work ethic.

Would be surprised if Byron doesn't get an ELC, good senior year and isn't tiny.

I agree Byron will likely get a deal
but surprised to see HockeyDB has him at 165#
and EliteProspects at 172#

He's definitely got a small frame, interesting to see what his stats are at training camp. I'm guessing 5'11 high 170s. Disappointing to lose him but Zach Aston-Reese more than replace him. I can see why picking where you want to play is enticing but given Pens success with average/undersized college players (Guentzel, Sheary, Rust, Wilson) I'm surprised he didn't sign here.

As a big guy who moves pretty well, I thought De Haas might have a shot at a contract. I have seen worse players sign NHL deals.
