Is there a list of 2010-2011 average ticket price to compare with the attendance #'s?

No - not really.

And anyone who tries to bring up the Team Marketing Report FCI numbers gets slapped mercilessly across the face with a large fish.

Yep, something just like that! :D

Going back to the OP, I do find that fascinating, yet I have found NHL attendance can sometimes chaos theory at it's best when trying to pin it all down:

In a league Where a Stanley Cup winning team (Chicago) talks about still losing money, and a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 6 years (the Leafs) are one of the top, if not top, revenue generators in the league, playing at or close to capacity and could very well be sold for part of a package that could reach over a BILLION dollars (along with Raps and Toronto FC) as two examples, plus the others mentioned, sometimes the numbers we see can get pretty nutty on both sides of the fence.

Is there any place to get individual game attendance figures?

ie if I wanted to look at how small market Canadian teams (Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa) draw in US markets outside of their division?

It would be interesting to see how teams like Phoenix, Atlanta, Florida draw outside of their division in the US vs small market Canadian teams in the US.

Some teams attendance figures are inflated due to lesser ticket prices, it would be nice to see the attendance numbers with the average ticket prices. Attendance numbers alone really mean squat.

By the same token, a lot of teams are playing in huge markets where corporations gobble up the expensive seats. There are so many moving parts that it's hard to draw conclusions from the numbers alone. IMO, long-term trends are more significant.

Define a "huge market". lol Phoenix and Atlanta are huge markets, the Islanders are in a huge market.

Yes, and when those teams were under stable ownership their corporate income was a huge part of their profit line. Arguably, the Thrashers' sole raison d'etre at this point is to maintain suite prices for their umbrella organization that includes the Hawks. Similarly, I'm sure the City of Glendale is interested in keeping the Coyotes in town at least in part because their corporate relationships have an effect on local businesses and the economic value of the arena. I'm not as familiar with the situation in Nassau, but from what I understand it lacks suites so the point is moot.

Come to think of it, the Thrashers may never have even existed if it hadn't been for Ted Turner's octopus-like corporate reach in Atlanta.

Compare those organizations to the Predators, who have a relatively strong grassroots fanbase but lost money due to weak corporate support in the Nashville market. Part of that was their own doing, but part of it is the difference between having eleven Fortune 500 headquarters (Atlanta) versus only two (Nashville).

Why can't americans move above the blatant over-corporatization of sport?

attendance of a team should have nothing to do with performance! that idea is simply what the corporations have created to degrade american sporting culture. There is no need on this forum to perpetuate these ridiculous and idiotic ideas of performance and variety in sport.

Oh ffs. This is why liberal arts/humanities classes are awful.

Pro sports = business. Owners purchase teams to make money, not to burn cash.
