It's unlikely to be back for this season. NHL Net has actually been in disputes with a lot of providers this year.

Well I guess this explains why I couldn't find NHLN when I switched over to U-Verse.

Oh well, just will stick to NHL.com for highlights.

I'm mildly peeved about not getting to watch the WJC on TV, but that's such a minor issue. I know they'll get a deal done eventually and, frankly, I still get a lot of use out of the sports package from Fox Soccer.

the idea of ditching a cable company over one network strikes me as slightly absurd

There were a couple of other issues involved, but getting NHLN back made it an easy decision.

We're right in the middle of the WJC, Winter Classic hype, gearing up for the All Star hype, and my local team is miles out of the playoff hunt. Lack of NHLN threatened to cut me off from enjoying the fun stuff.

I get CBC, so I don't miss things like HNIC, which probably makes me a bit less likely to be upset by the loss as many hockey fans. Other than this I have scant few channel lineup related concerns.

It may seem absurd but most people only watch a handful of channels anyway so if one of them is gone, it takes a healthy chunk of their viewing away.

This is how I feel. I watch one channel more than any other and that is NHL Network. I have one of the highest packages with AT&T so I get the NHL Network and now it is gone. It does not seem like they are trying very hard to get it back either.

NBC Sports is doing a pretty good job supplying me with my hockey fix and so is Gamecenter Live on the Ipad, but I still miss it. I mean it used to be the first channel I turned on and it was almost always the last one I turned off at night.

I really hope they sort this out b/c I'm under contract through August and I don't really want to go through the hassle of switching to Comcast.

I'm missing NHL Network a lot right now. I don't have any control over my television provider, but I would, at the very least, consider switching over this. I loved the NHL Network.

Instead of switching (and this goes for those of you who lack control of your provider) you should write to AT&T and tell them you're considering leaving over the NHL Network. It's much more effective than abandoning a service you obviously got for a reason to go with the likes of Comcast.

Well, most providers ask why someone leaves and that is generally where the feedback happens even if they don't write them prior to their leaving.

I left the stupidity that is ATT behind a couple years ago I think it's been now for Comcast and I'm extremely happy with the switch. Comcast has been a far superior product for me than ATT ever was with their constant headaches seemingly every few months.

Is that more effective than calling them? I gave that a try and they told me they did not know when they were getting it back but they were trying. That was 3 months ago.
