Canes likely could have dealt Skinner+ for ROR but ownership didn’t want to pay ROR’s July 1 bonus. St. Louis agreed to pay it at the last minute. Such is life.

The players didn’t all of a sudden get terrible at playing on the PP over the summer...whatever Rod put in to the system is just terrible.

Which is exactly what scared me about the "system/X's and O's are overrated" talk this summer. Sure, Peters was too into the system, but not having one at all isn't better. "Work harder like I did" is gonna get tuned out just the same way without some sort of learning and results.
