Starter is like the premiership (where applicable): the way to earn it is to not be the latest one to suck balls, and keep telling everyone when you're being the backup that you wouldn't suck balls like that if you started.

I feel like RBA doesn’t care about the analytical matchups. Where Peters cared about every aspect of the game in an analytical way (goalie va team matchups, faceoff matchups, etc). McBackup wouldn’t get this start if Peters was still coach here.
I'm encouraged that the Canes are going back to McElhinney after the past few games. Offense has been stagnant and needs to improve. Even so, changing out the goalie gives a bit of a different feel.
Gives me hope that if nobody takes the reigns that they will eventually attempt to address the position in-season.

Definitely not missing Peters hockey. Though to his credit his current team has the 3rd most points in the league currently. So maybe it wasn’t Peters and more so we didn’t have the right personnel for him.

Did not see the games vs Yotes or Vegas since I was traveling (probably for the better..) but it looks like lines are back to normal? Good, bad or ambivalent?

Johnson has given up 6 goals on 47 shots this year. Canes will get 40-45 shots tonight. Add in a Canes fudge factor for shooting % and presence of a backup goalie. That leaves... 1? 2 goals?

I sometimes like to do a quick scroll through of opposing teams game day threads before the games and I don't know if I've ever seen one where they wanted their own team to lose so badly
