And in Spurs news: Kane is out, Sissoko is injured, Son is suspended due to accumulated yellows and the Eredivisie just shut their league down so Ajax can rest and prepare for the match. Sounds pretty legit.

I thought you were joking/exaggerating and then I read the news. That is like, so f***ing bizarre. It's up there with the more bizarre things I've seen in sports and that's saying something.

If an English club found Liverpool's bus teetering on the edge of a cliff, they would push it over. Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, they help their opposition win the Champions League.

I love the libertarian nature of European football and then they throw this socialist shit at me. Can’t we have anything nice?

It's a bit comolcompli I'd say. Originally the Ajax league game was scheduled on the Sunday, April 28th - along all other league games as is required for the last couple of league matchdays. But that would give Ajax only one day in between, which really is a disadvantage and not common outside Great Britain. So they rescheduled the whole matchday to a later date as on Friday and Saturday (which would've been the logical choice) there are big national celebrations (Koniginnendag).

I don't see the big problem with this.

Liverpool plays Newcastle on 5/5 and Barcelona on 5/7 absolutely needing to win both games. I don't see the Premier League shutting down.

This is some high level rationalization. I understand why the Eredivisie would do this and I can’t fault them for it. It’s just frustrating as a Spurs supporter. The adversity they are facing is insane.

Top teams dropping like flies in the NHL and we're about to see Liverpool vs Barcelona.

This is why soccer always wins.

Can't believe I'm about to root for Liverpool for a couple of games, but here we are.

Hopefully Ajax or Spurs win it all, but I don't see that happening if they face Barcelona. Teams like Barcelona just don't lose UCL Finals, ever. It's like a strange immunity.
