What do you think? A few obvious ones stand out, such as Bossy at 10, Lidstrom at 12, Shore at 18 and Fedorov at 50. But overall, this is a lot better than many top lists we see on the net.

I guess it's pretty good. He obviously didn't include any goalies or non-NHLers. Also seems to underrate pre-WW2 players by quite a bit (which is pretty common in such lists).

Isn't associated content just a site where any fan can post whatever they want? So that would make it just the list of a random fan? Or am I wrong?

I'm as high on Mike Bossy's as anyone, but top-10? Nah, that's just plain wrong. Still, this is a pretty decent list compared to most newspapers.

Ron Francis makes this list but Bill Cook doesn't?
Marcel Dionne above guys like Ted Lindsay and Milt Schmidt?

Pure garbage.

I gotta say too, this list is pretty bad.

Majorly overrated (twice as high as I'd have them): Francis 48th, Perreault 35th, Richard 32nd, Moore 29th, Lafleur 11th, Bossy 10th, Messier 8th, Richard 5th.

Majorly underrated (half as high as I'd have them): Taylor DNP, Lalonde 41st, Shore 18th, Hull 9th.

In all honesty, if Messier and Shore were to flip positions, the top-22 would be very defensible. A fair bit different from my own, but within reason.

I think Mahovlich, Moore, H. Richard, Perreault, and Kurri are quite overrated on that list. However, for the first three, those are almost the exact positions that the Hockey News list had them at, so it is not without precedent. Perreault and Kurri were also within the Top 50 on the THN list.

There are certainly some omissions of older players and recent players ranked too high, but that's just the usual modern bias that you see on most lists. Amongst those actually present on the list, I wouldn't say there's anything too outregeous. I guess Fedorov at #50 is probably the worst, and that could well be a case of the guy just sticking one of his favorites on the end. Come to think of it, the last edition of our HOH Top 100 list had him in the 80's I think, and of course you need to consider that we probably had about 15 goalies/non-NHL players (players not under consideration on this list) ahead of Fedorov. Personally though, Sergei does not currently make my top-120.

I don't know, just the fact that Lidstrom is ahead of Shore and Bourque makes me scratch my head. Lidstrom just isn't as good as Bourque was and even though I have never seen Shore, I tend to believe when people who did see him told me how good he was.
