I thought lehkonen had a good rookie year, and was one of the better forwards in the playoffs.

Still waiting for that lehkonen to come back.

In his two seasons, Lehkonen scored in bunches in the end of the season. So he may just be a slow starter in terms of scoring goals.

In his rookie season in 2016-17, he had a total of 18 goals in 73 games. 11 of the 18 were scored in his first 56 games (0.20 goals per game). He scored the other 7 in his last 17 games (0.41 goals per game).

Last season, he had 12 goals in 66 games. He had 5 goals in his first 51 games (0.10 goals per game). He then ended the year with 7 goals in his final 15 games (0.47 goals per game).

So he's on pace for 22 goals ? :sarcasm:

Did you mean drive or dive?

Too soon?

Having also watched the Flames v Wild game, I can safely say that Lehky's "gamesmanship" is tweener 2nd / 3rd line as well. The Flames looked like a very hard team to like today. Perhaps Tkachuk is a generic Slavic root word for dirty rotten cheat.....

The guy never takes a shift off. May not be the top offensive guy but if you had a team of lehkonens chasing the puck down all game i dont think you would lose a game lol . Every team who wants to contend needs players like this .Love this guy.

On pace for close to 45 points playing on the third line. That's the sort of progression I was hoping to see. Stats, name and style are all eerily similar to Jere Lehtinen

He just went through a hot streak. It remains to be seen if that was an aberation or if he'll drop back to his previous production level.

Like Armia, he's very solid all around. It remains to be seen though how much offense he'll generate. I do think hes the type of player that will produce more when hes 25, 26, 27. He'll have more experience and want to make things happen with it. He has the drive imo.

Holy f*** this guy has hands of stone 90% of the time. Works hard, great forechecker, smart player, but misses/blows so many chances it's ridiculous.

Probably should face the facts that he's gonna likely top out as an effective bottom sixer who puts up around 30-35 points a year and contributes in all other areas of the game... Really nothing to shake a stick at.

He's simply not a top 6 player, he can fill in and be one but ideally is more suited to a third line role. Good defensively and on the pk but lacks the consistency in finishing chances that holds him back from being more. He is the winger version of Phil Danault.

Armia and Lehkonen are similar that way, while Armia is much stronger on the puck because of his size advantage. Both are strong defensively and can play the PK. Both have ultimate 15 to 20-goal upside despite the hands of stone and consistent lack of finish. To score 20, IMO, at this point in there careers, they would need to play undeserved minutes on top lines and be handed PP time.

Umm what. Legit superscouting. Armia has one the softest hands in the team. Lehkonen certainly has stonehands and he's borderline grinder.

I was a fan of Lehkonen early on. I even thought that he'd replace Pacioretty as the scorer. They would both be volume shooters. I don't see him more than a 3rd line guy. Shoots anywhere. Works hard on the defensive side of the puck, skates well.. but tries to finish and can't most of the time.

This guy has become a dime a dozen player.
In his third year and his offense is regressing.

I use to think he was a building block but now I see him as a spare part. I thought he would be much better in Year 3

Personally i love the guy. Works hard and never takes a shift off. I dont expect him to be a top line winger but every team who wants to compete needs a player like lehks. 3rd line defensive specialist as his role fits me fine. His defensive play helps way more than he gets credit for . Teams are never filled with scorers and to anyone thinking hes a dime a dozen player i would have to disagree . Hope he stays with the team for years to come .

Exactly!! He's only 23 and plays the game the right way, even though he may never become an offensive player as we hoped. Guys like Cogliano had made career of being 30-35 pts per year player, I don't see how Lehkonen is that far off such a goal. He's also much stronger than last year, so I'd say there's still room for improvement for him. I would definitelt not trade him, he's got the right "attitude" and I don't see Bergevin trading him.
