well hardest worker for sure, what a message that was.
Danault, does nothing and plays overtime and top minutes,
HOw can he not lose the room with such moves
Even Armia. Dude has 4 points in a game. 1 in the other ten. And he works nowhere near as hard as Lehkonen.

you correct actually. No way lehkonen should have been scratched, nor tatar for that matter, nor kulak before ! people wondering how he lose the room, that is exactly how. Players know who putting the effort and who playing well and who not.

Team was playing awesome. Then Mete asks for a trade and is inserted into the lineup for the next two games. What's happened since?

Everyone on the team knows that Lehkonen plays the game the right way, the way coaches preach. And he sits. Bet ya a whole bunch of players shook their head at that one, just like when Mete was inserted for asking for a trade.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Lehkonen is a dime a dozen player.

We probably don't need to spend 2.4M on Lehkonen, 2.6M on Armia, and 3.4M on Byron going forward. That's 8.4M on 4th liners, that we could be spending 2.1m on.

Maybe use that 6.3M on skill??? Would come in handy in 3 on 3 and the shoutout, among other situations...

I think he should be playing, he was looking good on the 4th line with Evans, he had 4 pts in 7 games but then went into his usual can't score into a barn for weeks on end. They are going to need to rotate bodies in now that they are playing so many times every other day.

Let's hope this 3 on 3 and SO record is a wake up call to MB: skill shouldn't be your last priority and an afterthought every off season.

Pretty much all of their top scorers are players Bergevin has traded for, what are you talking about? 12 of the top 14 I think. They'd be SOL waiting for Timmins draft picks to supply offense.

Yeah Timmins has been bad with forwards...

What am I talking about? The day before the season started, he said he was surprised he was able to land Toffoli - so he went out and spent 8 million in cap space on Allen and Edmundson, and wouldn't have had enough cap space to sign Toffoli if the rest of the league hadn't undervalued him...

Before this offseason, we had an endless stream of Cousins, Thompson, Weal, Peca, Armstrong, Prust, etc... as UFA signings - and of course there was the summer he paid top dollar for Alzner and didn't have enough left over to meet Markov and Radulov demands - this after we got bounced in the 1st round for not being able to score.

Well, Toffoli, Anderson, Perry, have been 3 of their best offence producers in addition to the physicality they bring. Edmundson has been the most effective player in the league from a +- standpoint. Allen has probably been their most reliable goal tender.

No doubt, the covid situation allowed a lot of players to fall to MB that otherwise woudln't have.

Tatar and Suzuki, Weber, Petry, etc, from previous years haven't been too shabby offensively.

Petry, Tatar and Suzuki for Pacioretty, Weber for Subban have been good.

But he's always said, you build a team from the net out. You saw it again this offseason when he used his cap space on Allen and Edmundson first and then, unexpectedly as he admitted, was AFTERWARDS able to add Toffoli.

The 4th line and the PK are better with Lehky than Perry.

The PP is much better with Perry.

When Caufield comes up, he'll compete for a spot also.

For example, we may see:

Tatar Danault Caufield
Armia Evans Perry/Lehkonen

or

Tatar Danault Armia
Caufield Evans Perry/Lehkonen
