Discussion in 'NHL Draft - Prospects' started by Tomppav, Jan 3, 2004.
Not saying the kid's a headcase, but I never heard of any issues involving his character prior to the 2002 draft. That seems like a hot topic with prospects, as seen by the criticism directed towards guys like Schremp and, last year, O'Sullivan and Glazachev.
Did he become a prima donna overnight? Or is it all overblown?
Hard to say what goes on behind closed doors but nothing he said in the article gives me the prima donna impression.
He doesnt show a lot of "prima donna" material in DC....just lack of defense...which is understandable. The kid has amazing puck handling skills whichs leads to "He holds onto the puck too long" kinda statements which in turn leads to the prima donna stuff.
Its all overblown....IMO.
Yeah for all we know there is a Russian coach angry about how Semin left Russia to play in the US....we don't know the whole story...but his replies to the questions don't give me a bad impression at all.
