i remember when we signed him, someone mentioned that he led the league in 2018-19 in "shot assists" ie passes that directly led to a SOG. That plus him leading the league in even strength scoring were all i needed to feel good about the signing.

Shot assists sounds pretty close to what I was looking for. And I am not surprised in the least that he lead the league in that.

He just creates opportunities every time he touches the puck. It's absurd. My Rangers fan memories only reach back to about 96-97, but him and Jagr stand alone at the top in that time span.

He's the best passing winger they've had since Jagr in my mind. Although they didn't score even the puck movement on the power play is much better when he's on the ice.

Honestly, if it was anyone else, I would have chalked it up to pure luck on a blind pass, but we all know bread totally knew Strome was wide open there. Guy's just a magician.
If I had to walk it back just a bit, I'd say maybe Fox could have. But Panarin's what you said.

bread is a miracle man.

how about a laffy-howden-bread line? howden can put up stats like he did back in the ahl days and laffy may get 3-4 shot attempts a game?

There was a remarkable stat line that Columbus was the best overtime team in the NHL with a record of 19-4 or so while Panarin was a Jacket. Now Columbus is the worst OT team in the league
