Why would Kucherov even need to play 140+ minutes when the team around him is vastly more efficient and competent at putting the puck in the back of the net?

Kucherov keeps racking them up. Curious to see if McDavid can get 3 tonight to move into the #2 spot.

He had three points against the Coyotes last week. Maybe he does it again tonight.

Here's where the Avs guys fall apart. Shutout 3-0 to the Habs. MacKinnon losing his mind on the bench, screaming at the coach the other night. It was too good to be true for Colorado. This will be a McDavid vs. Kucherov battle to the finish, unless Gaudreau has an explosive 5 point game soon.

If "falling apart" is a 100+ point season, I hope they fall apart every year.

Wouldn't it be crazy if Johnny Hockey snuck in there and stole the Ross out from under McDavid/Kucherov's nose?

Too many games left to really know who will come out on top. I do know one thing, McDavid never gets off the ice so that has to skew things in his favor.

Kucherov and Gaudreau also get to actually compete.

That would be amazing.. particularly when so many people felt that he was too small to play in the NHL, and if he did manage to stick he wouldn't be able to score like he did in college, and so many people here still believe that he isn't a franchise player.

Well, Johnny Hockey has been proving his doubters wrong his whole hockey career.

It will be nice to see the underdog little guy win... if it happens.

It’s funny, these two were also #1 and #2 last season at multiple points last season. I didn’t think that they’d end up in this position after their slow starts and the torrid pace from the Avs 1st line. But here they are.

Kucherov is a clear favorite, but what sets McDavid apart from the other top 5?

The craziest thing is that Gaudreau also has a chance at the Rocket Richard. Ovechkin is slowing down and may be easier to catch than Kucherov.

Well after all I guess you had to find a thread somewhere outside of HFOilers to ***** about it, but was this one the best choice?

The fact that he get to play 25 min a night probably, and people suggest he would score more on another team.

(I mean that's besides his obvious track record)

He has 2 art Rosses, and if Edmonton had even semi-competent management, he would probably have a couple Harts to go with them. No other player is more valuable to their team.
