I know all the Sportsnet guys get bashed mercilessly on the main board, but I think a lot of the ones that were let go were quite good.

Kypreos provided good insight from a player's perspective and I always loved John Shannon's explanation of the parallax view.

I know the multi-billion dollar TV deal hasn't worked out as planned. But I just fear the network will try to become cool and hip, which will likely not attract the younger demographic, and could turn away older, loyal fans.

The players primary issue is the escrow and that can be hashed out. The players WANT the Olympics not so much for the 10% that would go but for the 90% that would get 2 weeks off.

The owners want to get Seattle running smoothly and the next national TV contract could increase by 3 or 4 times.

Was McDavid even a 'max' contract? Its crazy how few of those have been signed in hockey I think its been a while since the last maybe Ovi? The NBA has to have at least 50+ guys getting the largest amount the team is allowed to offer.
