That's what the salary cap combined with a really bad UFA crop does. Teams can't make many big name trades because it might put them over the cap, and there weren't many players worth following who were available July 1st.

The Tavares drama queen saga was basically the highlight.

Power Plays, Pens lead the league last season with 26.2% while the Edmonton Lotteries sucked at 14.8%, a 11.4% differential!

Dating back january 12th the shortest team was the Canadiens (also called the Smurfs) at 72.4 inches and the tallest were the Jets at 74.1 while the Pens were at a 72.7 but we've gotten bigger since.(that's a poutine)

Average NHLers height was 6-foot-1.1 with a 200.7 lbs weight. Chara-less Bruins would go from 72.5 inches to a mind-boggling 72.1 (so much for the Big Bad Bruins!).
