McKinnon got any shot at the Hart if Colorado wins and makes the playoffs tonight?

He'd be my choice after Bergy/Marchand of course. His team is not very good at all this will be one of the most impressive teams to make the playoffs ever in sports given how awful they were last season.

I had him as the frontrunner ahead of Marchand (because Marchand has missed more games + has better linemates). But McDavid has gone on an unreal tear and should win it, imo, since he's played the full season and also has passed McKinnon and Marchand in PPG.

I don't think the "most valuable" aspect is generally taken into account as much as one would think with these awards, and nor do I necessarily think it should (you shouldn't be punished for having a bad team around you, or for having a great one). The one factor seems to be making the playoffs, so McDavid probably won't get it. So to win the Hart, you should be the best player on a good but not great team, I guess. Or be the best player in the league by a wide margin, on a great team.

So with that in mind, MacKinnon probably has a chance, but they'll most likely give it to... Hall?

(For reference, McDavid has a point on 107 of 232 Edmonton goals so far compared to Giroux's 102 on 251 and Kucherov's 100 on 296, that's almost 50% more than Kucherov's ratio).

And Chicago got swept in the first round last year, and are out this year:

Remember when people here wanted to sign Seabrook as a UFA? Lol that dude effed Chicago super hard on that contract.

The Blackhawks finished #1 in the West last year and went out to the best team in the conference and are tanking enough to likely get a guy on an ELC who can help next year. I wouldn't consider them dead and buried just yet.

Nope, once Crawford went down around New Years, there season was finished. He'll be back next year, and they should be better as a team as their new young players like Debrincat mature over the summer. Give them a full season of Crawford they would at least been on the mix for a playoff spot this year (no guarantees they would of made it), but they would of been battling until the end.

We just saw the teams that chose 1st and 2nd overall last year make the playoffs, not to mention the team with the worst season in the salary cap era in Colorado turn around and make the playoffs the very next year. Heck a team that didn't exist a year ago won their division.

You can turn things around in this league quickly with the right moves and some development from young players.

Such an amazing finish to the regular season. So many playoff matchups decided on the last game of the season. Not to mention how the wc spots were decided. Couldn’t ask for much more imo.

Sportsbook will be reset on Monday, April 9th at 9 PM Eastern.

All users will be given $25,000 to start with and IF you go under $1 you will be given a welfare check of $2,500 at 8 PM Eastern.

The Top 3 richest people before the reset will be awarded a HF Trophy, you can check the current Top 25 here

http://hfboards.mandatory.com/sportsbook/stats

The Top winners will NOT be reset - we are only acknowledging the richest people as they managed their money well.

One betting proposition will carry over after the reset and that is Winner of the Stanley Cup

http://hfboards.mandatory.com/sportsbook/2018-stanley-cup-odds-to-win-odds-updated-4-7.3343/

HOWEVER you can only select one team going forward and the most you can wager is $25,000 - BUT if you have already made a wager in the past 6 months it will count in the tournament that starts April 10th and will close when Lord Bettman awards the Stanley Cup.

You have until 9 PM EDT on April 9th to make one final bet with the cash you currently have.

The person who has the most cash after the Cup is won will win a $50 gift card for Fandango that is being awarded by myself @Fenway and not the owners of HF Boards ( CraveOnline Media, LLC, an Evolve Media, LLC company)

Hypothetical

Who gets home ice in the Stanley Cup Finals if the Bruins win by 1 goal tomorrow.

between Boston and Winnipeg if it where to happen

The final standings would be

Boston 114 Points +59 48 ROW
Winnipeg 114 Points +59 48 ROW

Both teams went 1-0-1 against each other

?

Sharp and Seidenberg both started their careers with the Flyers. Actually both drafted by the Flyers in 2001.

Awwww. Congrats Seids, Stanley Cup champ :)

So how many guys from that team have retired? Seids, Recchi, Ference, Horton ?, Savard,...
Kaberle, Peverley, Thornton, Campbell, Ryder. It's pretty wild to think about how many of them are done. Paille might as well be too. This could be Kelly's last run.

That is very true when talking about the WHL and the QMJHL, but not the OHL.

The OHL, with it's unbalanced schedule and the close proximity to each other makes it easy to travel.

I live in Stratford which is right about smack dab in the middle of the OHL. Southwest, I am 30 minutes to London, 90 minutes to Sarnia and 2 hours to Windsor. Northeast, 30 minutes from Kitchener and Guelph and 2 hours to Owen Sound. Southeast 70 minutes to Hamilton and less then two hours to St Catherines (Niagara). East, an hour to Mississauga, and two to Oshawa and two and a half to Peterborough.

When I make the trip north, it's 4 and a half hours to North Bay, but then I do the circuit from North Bay, to Sudbury, to Sault Ste Marie and then over the border to Saginaw.

So the OHL's travel is easier then most of the Junior A and Junior B teams in the Province. But the Dub and the Q - it's terrible travel.

For a New England born player which is considered Q territory, it almost becomes a no-brainer and that is not including language issues for school which is a concern for parents.

The bus travel in the WHL is borderline insanity in a league that goes from Manitoba to Oregon.

@Dom - OHL - is there any conversation about changing how the CHL divides the US?
