Update from hell, Dallas and Minnesota both still suffering for signing Pavelski over a more tried and proven Zuccarello and for signing Zuccarello. This should be the beginning of a 2-3 struggle before both teams start a rebuild.

Post-Names Rangers are 0-1, while...

We traded Names for the reasons Gorton presented:

Cap space and opportunity.

If that was the case, why didn't we trade Strome? A worse player who would have opened up basically the same amount of cap space since we retained on Names, and would have opened MORE opportunity and ice time for guys like Lias or Chytil(I'd say Howden but he doesn't deserve ice time, let alone a spot on the roster).

I know it's in the vacuum of one year in this case, but it seems like we always trade the wrong guy. Names is way better than Strome. He's actually a good player who was just majorly mis-utilized by the Rangers.

Maybe no one wanted him?

Zucc shot himself in the foot. Should've stayed in Dallas or gone elsewhere. Minny is terrible and have been so for years.

Yes I`m so sad for him - at least I can watch Rangers future prospects and have soccer as well.

He should've went with Dallas' offer or the other teams instead of chasing that little bit of extra cash to play with a bunch of aging has-beens. Disappointing tbh.
Ok, I’ve must’ve missed the offer from Dallas, what was he offered?

Not sure where to share this but BC colgate game was the haves and have nots.

BC loaded. Boldy and newhook together are dangerous. BC has 2 solid scoring lines and imo, alex newhook is a real gem. Smooth and dangerous. So calm and so quick. Hes got top 6 skills

boldy on the pk making things happen. Waching 18 yr old newhook and boldy work down low is hockey porn.

spencer night very poised and always square. Didnt work too hard and always economical with his movements.

those 3 are the real deal.

There's something about the Calgary Flames I find strange that I can't quite put my finger on.

My #2 NHL team. Always liked 'em.

In other news, in five less games, Mika has three more points than John 'Ultimate #1 center billionaire' Tavares. That's neat to think on.

Also, J. Drouin looks like he might be putting it together, I'm always happy to see someone un-bust.

Prediction: Patrick Laine will score 50+ goals this year and win the Rocket Richard award this year. He's been phenomenal thus far.

One of the key strategies I utilize in my fantasy leagues is to key on players who the previous year played like shit whether due to injury or just simply under performed. Alot of my fellow competitors are gun shy about those types....not me.

3 years for example in my keeper league I stole Nathan MacKinnon after his crappy 53 point season. But you just knew he had such massive talent and eventually he would emerge which obviously has happened and I be a happy camper as I still own him for another 3 years.

Laine is a similar situation. He's only 21...he has massive talent and he's looking to make sure we all know last year was a fluke. So far so good as he's been en fuego....

I just so often find things about them kind of random, like their overall jersey designs, having multiple Canadian patches, using the Atlanta Flames logo for their alternates but a regular "C" for the captain, having good players but always kind of sucking, having a smurf from New Jersey as their best player, etc. Maybe that's it, I'm not really sure. I don't mean that negatively at all, they're definitely a cool team.
