So I guess they should make things difficult for us if they went 4-5 years but they'd be taking him straight to UFA. 6 and over and, if I'm not mistaken, the compensation to us would be calculated by dividing total money by 5 years.

I know it's a touchy subject for some put things like this is the reason why players like Gudbranson and Stepan were targeted during last offseason. Thankfully it appears that skating ability appears to be the minimum standard for our draft picks and will hopefully characterize our future acquisitions as well.

You don't have to score goals to make skating work for you. Formenton is a great example of this.
