WTF?
I figured Columbus would have to add a 2nd. Instead Montreal adds a 3rd?
That's like trading AA for Domi and a 3rd.

Should Yzerman have been calling?

Yeah.
Just seems like a sweet deal for Columbus.
And I don't really understand WTF Montreal is doing at center ice.
I guess Danault, Suziki, THompson, Kotkaniemi
Yeah, it does seem like a bizarre move.

How does MTL add here? I don't get it, Bergevin losing another trade, time to trade him!

I don't think Danault will be happy with it but I think Suzuki and Kotkaniemi are what they are viewing as their top 6.

You have Poehling is likely their third line center in terms of the build.

Worth noting Domi wasn't really in their center plans to begin with.

$5.5M after a 1 goal season and a 47 Point career high.

7 years for a player with a damaging style of play and a serious injury history.

It’s insane.

Not a huge Ryan Murray fan per se, but if a 5th was all it took, I would definitely have been in on that.

How does Josh Anderson miss almost all year get a 7 year deal at more than high enough of a cap hit, Marc Bergevin that is how. When does MTL get rid of the cap dump of GMs?

And then Anderson gets some trade protection as well. Players like him should never get any protection, I wish NHL GMs would just say screw off when this level player asks for that.

Sometimes, it takes 2-3 years for the stupidity of a deal to reveal itself.
If Anderson starts his contract with a stinker season... holy f***.

It's interesting to see the deal structure on a lot of the deals around the league due to the times. Basically mid-loaded on longer deals and always deferring to the last year in shorter deals.
Like Krug, his base salary is 4M each year over the next 2 years, 8,8.5,8.5 middle 3, 6.5 6.5 to match the cap hit in the final 2. (Markstrom has about the same structure w/ signing bonuses)
All of our multi-year deals:
Nemestnikov: 1,500,000 yr 1, 2,500,000 yr 2
Stecher: 1,200,000 yr 1, 2,200,000 yr 2
Greiss: 2,800,000 yr 1, 4,400,000 yr 2
