This the type of shit that breaks out when bad hockey players have to find something to do to appear useful.

Looking at you Beagle and Orpik.

Tuch has really made his presence known this season.
I didn't think he was that gritty but I like it..

Carlson is bad in his own zone but Shattenkirk isn't??
Take the blinders off already.
No team with #22 leading the way is even going to remotely sniff the playoffs none the less play in the cup finals lol

I'm not talking about Shattenkirk.

You can think what you want about Shattenkirk. But don't call anyone in this league bad defensively and then compare them to John Carlson. He's as bad as it gets defensively.

Imagine passing on John Carlson when your top young guys in kreider Stepan Mcdonagh all USA hockey guys even heart and soul guy Ryan Bourque was here. What a horrible decision drafting del zotto. Just horrible. A another in a long line of horrible misses

So you’re shitting on the Del Zotto pick but like the Ryan Bourque move?

MDZ was a fantastic prospect/selection. He had a great start to his career. He’s just not as committed to hockey as other guys so he never reached his ceiling. It’s hard to complain about that

Del Zotto is gone. Carlson would still be here and be a problem.

It's basically the crux of the Fowler/McIlrath thing. McIlrath didn't work out and goes away. The Ducks will employ Fowler forever at big money.

In some cases, I'd rather have the inferior player that coaches don't love.

To Barry Trotz's credit, he shelters Carlson like a child.

I don’t think Carlson would be a problem. I think his contract would. It’s imporant to make that difference, when discussing players.

Girardi was a problem.
Stephan was a problem because of his contract

Sure, I agree with that.

Carlson is a fine weapon, but he's a PP specialist, and I wouldn't wanna give him the money he's gonna make to do one thing.

To the Caps' credit, they have him at 3.9 right now, and they have a coach who babysits him. It's working out great for them.

I’m surprised his whole getting traded from Montreal for basically being black and not another personalityless white face doesn’t get more attention in today’s hyper PC culture

If it happened in another sport it absolutely would have. People simply don't care about hockey, even in times when it's politically advantageous to.

PK Subban is an elite hockey talent. He's an articulate communicator. He's by all accounts a great off ice community guy.

I guess the fact that he's on this broadcast might be a sign that the NHL realizes they have an asset in him.

Get it straight.
Nobody gives a shit if he's black.
He got traded because he went against management.
