Friendly reminder that Tim Murray paid more for Hudson Fasching 1 year after he went in the 4th round than Carolina paid for Teravainen.

Not that Chicago was trading with anyone other than Carolina at the time but still.

The price for TT was decreased by the fact that the Canes took on Bickell as a cap dump.

They missed the boat a couple of times with the Hawks salary shedding, but they weren't alone.

The best way for a coach to win the Jack Adams is to get way better goaltending than they did the previosu season.

If a team gets way better goaltending they will improve significantly in the standings. If a team improves significantly in the standings their coach has a real chance at the Jack Adams.

Wow. That seems steep for a 30yr old goalie with a grand total of 29 NHL games played (25 this year and 4 in 2010-11).

I guess he has been pretty good for Edmonton in those 25 games this year. But it still seems unnecessarily risky to me.

Kotkaniemi was more ready than most expected as well, I think.

No centers to ppg center and a free 40 point center is quite the boost.

I wanted Pegula to throw a ton of money at Mitch Korn after Trotz wasn't retained. Who knows if he would've taken it, or if he would've still followed Trotz to the Islanders. But Korn is incredible.
